ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN- DISTRIBUTION
SEnergy is seeking a focused, detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be process-driven individual who enjoys focusing on detailed tasks for long spans of time to get projects done and who works well in a collaborative team environment.
This position is responsible for entering data into various platforms including NIS, NISC, AutoCAD and other Client systems to support our Engineering projects.
The position is located at our Boerne office and may require occasional overnight travel to project sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineering Technician primarily support engineering staff by performing various types of data entry into internal and external systems for project success while using knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
- Collects and gathers information on documents.
- Prepares analysis in AutoCAD for engineering team, including sag and clearance calculations.
- Develop and prepare TXDOT permit drawings and exhibits, acquire ROW maps as needed, coordinate with engineer to ensure ROW lines are properly drawn.
- Data entry into Client systems, including but not limited to NIS, NISC, Partner
- Enter construction units for pole placements on Electrical Distribution projects.
- Prepare KMZ files and download image files from TNRIS website, as required.
- Create reports using Excel
- Quality control project work to maintain the expected standards for project deliverables, including CAD work ensuring accurate scales, proper spelling, proper formatting, and completeness.
- Prepare staking sheets and construction cost estimates for projects.
- Work with our GIS team to assist in any ESRI mapping updates.
- Coordinate with field personnel concerning questions or missing items.
- Attend project meetings as necessary to coordinate design and address any issues.
- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with whom project work interfaces.
- Stay abreast with changing technology and design methodologies associated with Transmission & Distribution design.
- Ensure adherence to Client standards to develop detailed design plans for projects.
- Perform administrative duties as required including mailings, office supply, and document reproductions.
- Maintain good project documentation.
EDUCATION:
- Preferred: Associate degree; 1+ experience in Electric Utility Distribution industry.
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills, Excel, and word processing applications.
- Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking. AutoCAD experience preferred.
- This position requires the ability to listen and hear, good eyesight, sitting, and use of hands and arms.
